Violation of this chapter is a misdemeanor. Every person is guilty of a misdemeanor who violates any provision of this chapter or who fails or neglects to comply with any requirements of this chapter. Such person is guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any part of which any such violation or noncompliance occurs, and is punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than six months, or both such fine and imprisonment.
