A. There is hereby created a planning commission for the city of Wasco, county of Kern, state of California. The commission shall consist of five members, none of whom shall be officials or employees of the city. There are presently five members serving on the commission. The terms of two of the members expire in 2010, the term of one member expires in 2011, and the terms of the other two members shall expire in 2012. The foregoing terms shall constitute the terms of the members of the commission henceforth and their successors shall be appointed for terms of four years. If a vacancy occurs otherwise than by expiration of term, it shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term.

B. The members of the commission shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the majority of the city council.

C. The members of the commission shall serve as such without compensation. (Ord. 604 §1, 2010; Ord. 139 §1, 1968; Ord. 36 §1, 1948).
