The members of the commission shall elect a chairman from among the members who are not officials or employees of the city. Such chairman shall serve for a term of one year, and upon expiration of one year thereafter, a successor and successors shall be appointed for like periods of one year from among the members of the commission who are not officials or employees of the city. The commission may appoint such other officers from among its members as it may determine in accordance with the existing law. (Ord. 36 §2, 1948).
